Pubs and places to eat

The village has five pubs and two cafes all serving excellent food.

Booking in advance for the pubs is generally necessary - especially during peak season.

The Halfway House   01752 822 279

The Halfway House sits atop of the stream that used to form the Devon and Cornwall border.  It is cosy and comfortable.  The food is very good and the local male voice choir often practice here on a Wednesday night – well worth a visit. Very family friendly and great kids menu.

The Devonport Inn  01752 822 869

There is no doubt the Devonport has the best view of any of the pubs and is right on Kingsand beach.  The food is good and fresh and relatively upmarket.

Olives  01752 963 135

Licensed beach side cafe selling good quality meals and snacks.

The Cross Keys  01752 822 706

The Cross Keys is always popular with locals and tourists.  The food menu is a mixture of traditional pub food and some superb seafood specialities.

Rising Sun   01752 822 840

This is the nearest pub to Rock House and gets good early evening sun. There is live music on Saturday nights which is always popular.  The food menu is a mixture of traditional pub food and some superb seafood specialities.  Booking essential.  Not good for young children as can be noisy – a proper pub.

The Bay  01752 823 777

Opened in 2019, this new and welcome addition to the village serves superb food and has an excellently stocked bar and wine list.
